Woman stopped by police in Hallglen banned for third drink-driving offence

Kerry-Anne Ferguson drove in Islands Crescent, New Hallglen Road and Falkirk Road – all Hallglen – and High Station Road, Falkirk on March 24 when she was double the legal limit.
Ferguson, 11 Hillhouse Avenue, Bathgate, was pulled over by police shortly before midnight due to her erratic driving.

Hide AdThe 48-year-old appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday having admitted getting behind the wheel after consuming so much alcohol the proportion in her breath was 44 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the 22mcg limit.
Procurator fiscal depute Catherine Fraser said: “Police were on patrol within Hallglen.
“During this time a Corsa pulled out from a street as it approached the roundabout. It appeared to brake heavily.
“It turned onto Falkirk Road where it swerved onto the opposing carriageway. The nature of the driving caused police concern and they asked her to pull over.

Hide Ad“The accused came to a stop and when police spoke to her they could detect a strong smell of alcohol. A test was carried out and she was taken to Falkirk Police Station.”
Defence solicitor Simon Hutchison said: “She appreciates she’s on the cusp of a custodial sentence.”
Ferguson was disqualified for three years, reduced from four due to her guilty plea, and placed under supervision for two years, during which she must attend for alcohol and drugs treatment.
She also received a four-month, 7pm-7am restriction of liberty order.
