Despite appearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court without legal representation a motoring offender still managed to wangle some extra time to complete his community punishment.

Kevin Russell (41) arrived in the dock on Thursday without a solicitor, having pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and without insurance in Tamfourhill Road, Falkirk, on July 26, 2019.

The deadline for his subsequent community punishment was February 2020, so Sheriff Derek Livingston allowed the order to be extended by three months to allow Russell, 21 Primrose Crescent, Motherwell, to complete it.
