Billy Buchanan, Falkirk Council Provost said: “Strathcarron has been such an amazing place for so many people over the past 40 years.
“The carers who work there have supported so many families and individuals in the most difficult “of circumstances and should be recognised for their vital work.
Lighting up our landmarks is a small token of our appreciation of this work and to celebrate the 40 years of this remarkable institution.

The tribute was warmly welcomed by staff at the hospice.
Irene Mckie, chief executive, said: It has always been a great privilege for us to provide our service to the people of Falkirk.
“After such a difficult year when our staff have worked so hard to keep services going and expand our community based care, it is a huge morale boost for them to have this recognition. Thank you so much for your support”
The hospice opened it’s doors in 1981 after several years of campaigning and fundraising to establish the facility and promote better end of life care to the community.
