Silence is golden for Grangemouth firm
Blaring loudspeakers at music gigs and feedback-producing sound systems during presentations at large corporate gatherings will soon be a thing of the past thanks to a new group of firms, based in Grange Court, Earl’s Gate Business Park, Grangemouth.
Larbert-born Chris McCarron, a sound engineer by trade, started Silent Seminars, Sound Sense Solutions and, most recently, Sound Academy, after working in the live music industry for a number of years.

“There are two separate business – soon to be three – and they are all in the start up phase. Silent Seminars came from an idea we had four or five years ago and involves corporate events using wireless headphones to deliver presentations.
“Sound Sense Solutions is the technical side of the business which develops and supplies equipment used in Silent Seminars and our latest idea the Sound Academy, a skills development initiative.”
Chris and his team have used their technology at a Libertines gig at London’s O2 and at last year’s Hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh.
