Tesco staff rally round Falkirk families devastated by floods
The team at Tesco in Falkirk joined up with Westquarter and Redding Community Project to help residents of 14 homes in the area affected by the damage caused during August’s devastating floods.
It was caused by torrential rain bursting the banks of the nearby Westquarter Burn resulting in serious damage to the homes of residents in the valley. Five families had to be evacuated.

Hide AdThanks to the kind donations from the team at the store, residents were provided with vital items such as cleaning supplies, mops, buckets, baby clothing and towels.
Angela Combe, community champion at the Falkirk store said: “After seeing the impact of such a major incident to our local area, we wanted to go the extra mile to support the residents through an incredibly challenging time.
“With help from the team at Westquarter Community Project, we were able to donate and hand-delivering necessary supplies such as cleaning equipment and baby clothing to the families impacted over the last couple of months.”

Sylvia Bradley, who chairs the community project, said: “Since the floods, we’ve been trying to provide assistance to the community in any way we can.
“We’ve raised over £1500 through a GoFundMe page thanks to kind donations from across the country and have been going door to door to ensure that residents have everything they need.
“Thanks to the incredible efforts from the team at Tesco, we’ve also been able to help provide essential cleaning supplies and clothing.”
