“In order to protect the vulnerable it is important that people with symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) do not attend healthcare premises.”
The spokeswoman added: “Can we remind people that if they develop a new continuous cough and/or high temperature (37.8 degrees centigrade or higher) to stay at home for seven days, even if they think their symptoms are mild.
“Those with mild symptoms do not need to call their GP or NHS24. If you are concerned about more serious symptoms or symptoms worsening, you should seek medical advice from your GP in hours, or NHS24 out of hours on 111.”
